interesting words from Huck Finn

There are lots of interesting words since I don't know so many words! bahaha...

William the Conqueror – the victor at the Battle of Hastings in 1066, thereby altering England’s history forever. Huck is dramatically incorrect as he connects the Mayflower, the ship on which the Pilgrims came to America in 1620, with someone from the 11th century.

Obsequies – funeral rites. A ceremony for celebrating, sanctifying, or remembering the life a person who has died.

Mulatter – a person with one black parent and one white parent, or any person with mixed ancestry; Pap’s mispronunciation.

Phrenology – the practice of telling people’s fortunes by feeling the bumps on their heads.

Bulrushers – the reeds that the mother of Moses used to make a small “ark” in which to hide her baby after Pharaoh declared that all newly born Jewish male babies should be killed
